This comes after the patient had been receiving treatment for a long period at various hospitals, during which time his health remained in a very bad condition. In addition, the patient was later transferred to the hospital due to severe symptoms relating to respiratory failure, breathing difficulty, extensive sweating, and exhaustion. Indeed, his only chance of survival was to have a lung transplant.
Fortunately, doctors were able to find a suitable lung that had been donated from a brain-dead victim.
Over the three months, the patient’s health has been in a stable condition.
At present, a total of eight lung transplants have been successfully carried out in the nation, with the latest one being the fifth lung transplant conducted by doctors at Viet Duc Hospital.
