Vietnam wins 3 golds at Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2022

VOV.VN - Vietnamese students have grabbed three gold medals at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2022 (APIO) which was held in Egypt in late May.

The three gold medals went to two high-school students of Hanoi National University and a high-school student of Pham Boi Chau School for the Gifted in Nghe An province.

In addition, Vietnamese students also bagged four silver medals at the contest. They are all 12th graders of high schools for the gifted in Hanoi city, and Quang Ninh and Binh Phuoc provinces.

The 2022 Asia Pacific Informatics Olympiad was held in Egypt on May 28-29 in the form of an online competition. The Vietnamese team comprised 15 contestants, taking the online exam at University of Technology under Hanoi National University.

Seven candidates with the highest scores were selected for the award consideration, and they all won medals.

APIO 2022 attracted 888 contestants from 35 countries and territories, and 186 contestants clinched 17 gold, 74 silver and 95 bronze medals.
