Vietnam safe from COVID-19 over 99 straight days
VOV.VN - No coronavirus cases have been reported in Vietnam during the past 12 hours, and the country has gone through 99 days in a row without new locally transmitted infections, the Ministry of Health said on July 24.
As many as 365 out of the total of 412 cases in Vietnam have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospital, representing 88.6%.
The remaining 47 cases are receiving treatment at medical centres across the country, with four having tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at least once.
About 272 imported cases returning from coronavirus hit countries have been quarantined as soon as they landed in Vietnam.
The number of people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients and returned from affected areas overseas has amounted to 10,336 who are in quarantine for medical observation.
The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control recommended that people maintain epidemic prevention measures in the new normal phase to ensure no new outbreaks occur in the community.
