Vietnam reports 848 fires and explosions in six-month period

VOV.VN - A total of 848 fires and explosions broke out nationwide during the the first half of the year, killing 41 people and injuring 42 others in the process.

Property losses from the blazes were estimated to stand at around VND414.73 billion.

According to details given by the Fire Prevention and Fight Department, the number of fires and explosions in H1 decline by 306, whilst the number of deaths and injuries dropped by 12 and 35, respectively, compared to the same period from last year.

Throughout the entirety of 2021 the country reported 2,230 fires and explosions, which claimed 97 lives, injured 145 people, and caused property losses of some VND379.4 billion.
