VOV.VN - The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front hosted a ceremony on August 5 to receive donations, including ventilators, given by domestic businesses and philanthropists in support of the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
At the event, Van Lang University and Van Thinh Phat Group presented 500 Eliciae MV20 ventilators worth VND120 billion, while Truong Quoc Chinh, the owner of Hoa Lan Chinh Truong Resort, donated nearly VND12 billion.
Nguyen Cao Tri, chairman of Van Lang University’s management board, said the donation is part of a project to produce 2,000 ventilators jointly funded by Van Lang University and Van Thinh Phat Group. The devices will be presented to the Vietnamese Government upon completion.
Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long appreciated the donors for their joint efforts to combat the disease and said the devices will be sent to hospitals that are currently treating severe COVID-19 patients and supplement hospitals at a grassroots level.
Tran Thanh Man, chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, said that all proceeds offered will be used to purchase medical supplies for health facilities across the country in the fight against COVID-19.
