Vietnam deports 13 Chinese citizens due to illegal entry

VOV.VN - Police of southern Kien Giang province have co-operated alongside local authorities in the northern province of Lang Son to expel 13 Chinese citizens who had previously entered the country illegally.

Kien Giang border guards on April 22 caught red handed a group of Chinese people attempting to exit Vietnam and enter neighbouring Cambodia.

During interrogations, the Chinese suspects confessed that they had illegally entered Vietnam and then sought to cross the border into Cambodia for employment.

Following the arrest, the group of Chinese citizens were placed in quarantine in line with COVID-19 guidelines.

After their results came back negative for COVID-19 three consecutive times, the police decided to deport the 13 Chinese citizens through the Huu Nghi (Friendship) International Border Gate on June 15.

Since the beginning of the year border guards have deported dozens of Chinese citizens for illegally entering Vietnam.
