Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting 2022 held online

VOV.VN - The Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting 2022 was virtually held on June 22 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee and the Communist Youth League of China.

The main theme of the meeting is the development of the organisation of the youth union as it seeks to adapt to socio-economic development of each respective country.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, first secretary of the HCYU Central Committee, said despite dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks, both countries have held cultural exchanges to constantly cultivate ties of traditional friendship and promote their comprehensive strategic co-operation relationship.

2022 is a special year for both sides as China celebrates 100 years of its Communist Youth League of China, while Vietnam prepares to organise the national congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2022 - 2027 term.

The meeting therefore provides a prime chance in which both sides can exchange their experience in the organisation of the youth union ahead of upcoming important events this year, Tuan noted.

The Chinese side expressed their belief that the meeting would serve as a bridge to connect the youth of both countries, making practical contributions to developing traditional friendship ties and promoting the comprehensive strategic co-operation relationship that exists.
