Vietnam Airlines recommends passengers not to carry meat products

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, recently announced that many countries have banned passengers from bringing meat products while entering their countries to avoid disease outbreak.

In particular, Taiwan (China) will fine from TWD 10,000 to TWD 1 million (equivalent to VND 7.5 million to VND 750 million) if passengers carry meat or meat products whereas in Japan, passengers bringing fresh or processed foods and vegetable have to comply with quarantine regulations.

In case of carrying foods without quarantine certificates, passengers will face three years in prison or fine of JPY 1 million (equivalent to about VND 200 million).

In Australia, passengers must correctly declare foods, vegetative materials and products from animals including a small amount of snacks or ingredients for cooking.

As this reason, Vietnam Airlines recommended passengers from countries and territories worldwide should obey the regulations above to avoid heavy punishment and disease.

The national flag carrier has also delivered flyers to passengers for flights departing from Vietnam at check-in areas, broadcasted via radio and display screen on flights to Taiwan, Japan and Australia. Additionally, it has arranged staff at international terminals to remind guests about this rule.
