UNDP donates US$150,000 towards drought relief
VOV.VN - In response to the recurring drought that has ravaged households in Binh Thuan Province, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on June 12 gave US$150,000 for their benefit.
In a statement, Le Van Duong of World Vision, said his organization will continue assisting residents of the district until the end of the drought.
From mid-June to July, World Vision will fund other famine relief and water purification projects as well as administer the UNDP project and the acquisition of water containing equipment for residents of the two districts, said Mr Duong.
Earlier, World Vision gave US$80,000 to 5,000 citizens of the Ham Thuan Bac and Bac Binh districts in Binh Thuan Province, as part of a long-term development program to help needy people lift themselves out of poverty.
