Two Lao nationals arrested for cross-border drug trafficking

VOV.VN - Border guards in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa said on April 27 that they have arrested two Lao nationals for transporting 15,000 pills of synthetic drugs into Vietnam.

The drug traffickers, born in 1982 and 1991 and residing in Viengxay district of Houaphanh province, were caught red-handed in Keo Te village of Nhi Son commune of Muong Lat district.

The pair had been the two masterminds behind a large-scale drug trafficking ring operating across the border from Laos to Vietnam. They had used ethnic Mong people to find discreet routes and evade the police, causing a number of difficulties for relevant forces in breaking the case.
