VOV.VN - The two final trains used for Ho Chi Minh City's first metro line project which will connect Ben Thanh Market with Suoi Tien Amusement Park are set to be shipped to the southern city from May 5 to May 7.

With the upcoming arrival of the two trains, the metro line No.1 in Ho Chi Minh City will have a total of 17 trains manufactured in Japan.

Each three-carriage train is capable of carrying 930 passengers, with the trains capable of travelling at a maximum speed of 110 kilometres per hour on elevated sections and 80 kilometres per hour underground.

Most notably, the first metro line project in the southern metropolis has received over VND43.7 trillion in investment.

The 19.7-km line No.1 will be the first of at least six lines to be built throughout the city with the aim of easing traffic congestion in its north-eastern gateway.
