Third batch of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by Japan set to arrive in Vietnam on July 9

VOV.VN - The third batch of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Japanese Government is set to arrive at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport on the morning of July 9, according to information from the Japanese side.

Earlier the first batch of the vaccine offered by the Japanese Government arrived in Vietnam on June 16 and all of the vaccine doses were shipped to Ho Chi Minh City aiming to serve the largest-ever vaccination campaign as it is facing the most challenging wave of coronavirus outbreaks.

On June 25, Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu announced that his nation would continue to provide Vietnam with an additional 1 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in non-refundable aid and the delivery were divided into 2 phases. The first phase with 400,000 vaccine doses arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on the early morning of July 2.

As such, 2 million doses of the vaccine donated by Japan have been fully administered to the nation.
