At a meeting, VOV President Nguyen The Ky briefed the guests on VOV history during the struggle for national defence and construction as well as its development with four types of media today. He recalled the sound traditional friendship between the two countries and between VOV and Radio National of Kampuchea in particular in the past and at present.
Mr Ky emphasized on the meaning of comprehensive and close cooperation between the two radios in the future, especially in information exchange and personnel training. He asked the Cambodian side to increase radio broadcasting programs in Vietnamese to help the overseas Vietnamese update information about Cambodian laws and bilateral relations. VOV is willing to assist Cambodia in this work, said Mr Ky.
Minister Kanharith in turn thanked the great support of the Vietnamese Government and VOV for its journalistic career, especially the radio sector. Vietnam has assisted 80% of Cambodia’s radio broadcasting capacity and training nearly 100% its radio broadcasters and producers.
Mr Ky and Mr Kanharith witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between VOV and Radio National of Kampuchea for 2018-2020 period.
On the occasion, on behalf of the King and Government of Cambodia, Minister Kanharith presented the Royal Order of Sahametrei to VOV President Nguyen The Ky and many noble orders of the Cambodian Royal Government to VOV vice presidents Vu Hai and Nguyen Xuan Huy and 72 former VOV staff who had supported Cambodia.
