Thailand presents aid to flood victims in central region

Thailand’s Consulate General in HCM City on Dec.17 presented 50,000 face masks along with and VND108 million (US$4,670) to flood-hit people in the central region through the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the city.

The gift was handed over to the VFF HCM City chapter by Thai Consul-General Apirat Sugondhabhirom and representatives of Thai businesses and community in Vietnam.

The same day, the Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO 2), a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity, together with Binh Dinh Power Company donated 40 desktops to three elementary and secondary schools in the central province of Binh Dinh.

EVNGENCO 2 previously presented 40 desktops to schools in Phu Yen province. The aid totaling VND800 million was given to those which were hit the hardest during recent storms and floods.

Earlier, the power company presented VND2.2 billion to the two central provinces of Quang Tri and Quang Nam to help local people overcome losses caused by natural disasters. Staff members also joined blood donation drives and supported various agencies and localities in battling COVID-19.
