He made these remarks during a recent working session held alongside Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh in order to discuss methods aimed at intensifying investment of the Thai company in the country amid COVID-19.

Sirivadhanabhakdi went on to inform the Vietnamese diplomat about ThaiBev’s investment strategy in the nation, as well as its measures to maintain operations amid the ongoing threat of the pandemic.

He therefore affirmed that the Thai company will continue its long-term investment strategy in Vietnam, not only in beverages, but also in other fields of agriculture, real estate, tourism, and finance-insurance.

It will strive to attract major investors from developed countries to the Vietnamese market as a means of setting up partnerships for green and sustainable development targets.

As part of the occasion, ThaiBev announced its decision to present three million surgical masks worth roughly US$440,000 manufactured by the firm to the Vietnamese Government.

The Thai firm has also launched an array of activities in support of the Vietnamese community in Thailand in the continued battle against COVID-19.

In response, Ambassador Thanh stated that the Vietnamese Government is making every effort to try and slow the spread of COVID-19, whilst simultaneously creating favourable conditions for businesses moving into the ‘new normal’.

The local diplomat affirmed the country’s readiness to receive recommendations from and work alongside Thai companies operating in the nation amid difficulties caused by the pandemic, as well as to discuss measures with ThaiBev aimed at maintaining and recovering its local operations.

Firms of TCC Group, ThaiBev’s parent company, had previously offered US$1 million to contribute to the Vietnamese COVID-19 vaccine fund, along with 3,000 welfare packages worth VND900 million
