Singapore’s Temasek presents COVID-19 medical supplies to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Singaporean non-profit orangisation Temasek Foundation on September 6 presented hauls of medical equipment to Vietnam to assist it with the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The shipment comprises 16 respirators, 250,000 high-quality medical face masks, 200,000 splash protection shields, 100,000 protective suits, 5,000 goggles, and 4,500 sets of gloves.
At the handover ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung thanked the Government of Singapore and Temasek itself for the gift, which he said would help Vietnam combat the virus.
The diplomat also suggested that the Singapore Government and Temasek continue to support Vietnam’s COVID-19 fight through searching for COVID-19 vaccine sources or exchanging vaccines in a suitable manner.
Meanwhile, Benedict Cheong, CEO of Tamasek, stressed that Singapore is willing to assist Vietnam and other ASEAN countries to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible.
As soon as the shipment arrives in Vietnam, Singapore will send its technical staff to assist with the installation of the equipment, he told the ambassador.
Last year Temasek also donated 10 respirators to Vietnam in support of its treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Founded in 2007, Temasek, a non-profit charity foundation, focuses on funding and supporting capacity improvement schemes in Asia and across the world in the fields of health care, education, public administration, urban management, and disaster response.
