Rescue ships and helicopter deployed to search for Binh Dinh fishermen
VOV.VN - Two rescue ships belonging to the Vietnam Fisheries Resources Surveillance and a military helicopter have been dispatched as part of efforts to search for two fishing vessels from Binh Dinh province and their 26 crew members that had been in distress at sea when attempting to seek shelter from Typhoon Molave.
A rescue ship successfully brought all of the fishermen onboard the 98658TS fishing boat to shore on the morning of October 29, before towing the vessel to the mainland. At present, 14 of the crew are in a stable health condition.
According to preliminary information, two of the fishing vessels, numbered 96388 and 97469, both of which are from Binh Dinh province and had 26 crew members, sank in the northwestern waters of Nha Trang city as it tried to evade the path of typhoon Molave on October 27.
Currently, relevant forces from the Vietnam People’s Navy and Vietnam Fisheries Resources Surveillance have continued to co-operate in the search for the missing fishermen.
