Quintessence of Tonkin honoured during Best Hotels & Resorts Awards 2019
VOV.VN - The live entertainment show titled “Tinh hoa Bac Bo”, also known as the Quintessence of Tonkin, was awarded with the title of “Leading Cultural Spectacle Show” at the Best Hotels & Resorts Awards 2019 which took place in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on July 17.

| The Quintessence of Tonkin is a 60-minute show which is run by Tuan Chau Ha Noi JSC. It is held every three days at Baara Land in Quoc Oai district which is located 25km west of the capital. |

| The venue for the show can be found near Thay pagoda, one of the nations’ oldest Buddhist pagodas which is transformed into a pilgrimage site for worshippers during the lunar new year festival. |

| The show highlights a variety of aspects of Vietnamese culture, including folk singing, folk games, the worship of the Mother Goddesses, and the daily lives of farmers. |

| Reflected in the performance are the peaceful sounds that are common throughout rural Vietnam. |

| Since opening, the entertainment show has received a number of records and won several international awards. |
 |
| It has also been recognised for using the largest water stage in Vietnam at a total of 4,300 square metres and featuring most the cast members who are farmers with 150 people. |

| In June 2018, the performance was awarded the Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in Media, Visual Communications & Entertainment. |

| The show has been running for the past two years and has so far attracted more than 30,000 tourists from the RoK. |

| One of the most noticeable aspects of the venue is that the stage is permanently submerged under a thin layer of water. The water allows a unique portrayal to emerge of the area’s cultural heritage through the use of water puppetry and dragon boat racing, in addition to a number of other creative methods. |
