Quang Ngai dispatches Team K53 for fallen soldiers' remains search in Laos, Cambodia
VOV.VN - The Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of Fallen Soldiers' Remains of Vietnam’s central province of Quang Ngai held a departure ceremony on August 28 to assign tasks to Team K53 under the Provincial Military Command for the 2026-2027 dry season mission in Laos and Cambodia.
The event, held at Ngoc Linh Hall in Kon Tum Ward, marked the deployment of Team K53, comprising 67 officers and soldiers divided into three operational units.
During the 2026-2027 dry season, Team K53 will carry out search and collection operations across Champasak, Attapeu, and Sekong provinces in Laos, as well as Ratanakiri province in Cambodia. Simultaneously, the team will organize search forces within Quang Ngai province.
Team K53 will continue working closely with local authorities, armed forces, and residents in Laos and Cambodia to survey, verify information, search for, exhume, and collect the remains of Vietnamese fallen soldiers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Y Ngoc, Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ngai provincial People's Committee and head of the Steering Committee, asked Team K53 and relevant units to enhance the quality of information collection, verification, and processing.
She instructed the team to innovate search methods, ensuring flexibility, scientific rigor, and a clear focus tailored to each locality.
At the same time, she urged the team to maximize coordination and support from local administrations, armed forces, and people in the Lao and Cambodian provinces.
She emphasized ensuring absolute safety for personnel, vehicles, and equipment, maintaining strict discipline, and fully abiding by Vietnamese laws as well as the laws and regulations of the host countries throughout the mission.
Vietnam, Cambodia to continue search for remains of fallen Vietnamese soldiers
VOV.VN - Vietnam and Cambodia will continue coordinating the search, recovery and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia until no further information on their burial sites remains.
