Northern, central regions face prolonged hot spell
VOV.VN - The current hot spell is likely to continue heating up both the northern and central regions over the next few days and will remain until July 4.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), temperatures will stay between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius, with some places even seeing temperatures rise above this threshold.
In Hanoi capital, temperatures are forecast to hover around 36 and 38 degrees Celsius and the humidity is anticipated to fall to between 50% and 60%.
Over the course of the next three days, the ultraviolet (UV) index in the northern and central regions is also predicted to reach high-risk levels, a factor which can be highly harmful to the health of local residents.
Health experts have therefore warned that prolonged hot spells, combined with low humidity and the impact of Foehn wind can result in an increased risk of explosions occurring in residential areas and forest fires in the central region.
