In order to prevent the further spread of the ASF virus and minimise losses for breeders, Son La province has stepped up efforts to combat the epidemic.
The locality sent veterinary workers to instruct local residents on how to prevent and detect the early signs of the ASF, in addition to providing timely support to pig-farming households which have been forced to cull livestock.
Following concerted efforts, a total of 22 communes and towns in the locality have declared free from the ASF epidemic.
Moreover, Son La province will continue to direct its districts, towns, and relevant units to take drastic steps in order to stamp out the epidemic, disinfect breeding facilities, and support pig-farming households in a timely manner.
