More than 40 passengers survive a head-on car collision in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - As many as 43 passengers luckily survived a severe head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Binh Dinh province, central Vietnam, on June 25.

The accident happened at around 00:36 at Long My intersection of Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.

The bus with 43 passengers on board was travelling en route from north to south on National Highway 1.

The head-on collision with the truck carrying woodchips in another direction caused the bus cabin to severely deform.

Luckily, all the passengers managed to escape the bus. Only the bus driver was trapped inside the damaged cabin, and he was pulled out with assistance from rescue workers more than an hour later.  

The driver of the trucks was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The fuel tanks of both the bus and the truck were also deformed, with the fuel spilling out over the road.

Relevant forces launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
