Mastery of digital technologies helps Vietnam to advance into new era

VOV.VN - Mastering digital technologies can resolve Vietnam’s existing problems in an effective manner whilst helping the country to further advance into a prosperous era, heard the sixth National Forum on Digital Enterprises Development held in Hanoi on January 15.

The annual event brought together the Party and State leaders, as well as technological experts to map out key directions and encourage creativity and innovations in technology production in Vietnam.

In his opening speech, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasised that Industry 4.0 has created a wealth of opportunities for Vietnam, adding that technologies can help it to handle various problems in an effective manner.

He recalled the campaign "Make in Vietnam” with products made and designed in the country by Vietnamese enterprises, describing it as a slogan for action which reflects the country’s spirit of self-reliance and determination as it strives to master applications and technologies.

The motto is expected to help Vietnam to thrive and maintain lasting peace as it will contribute to developing a strong defense industry, further protecting national sovereignty moving forward, he noted.

The forum saw experts put forward a number of future orientations and development solutions for the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence. It recommended that the Vietnamese Government devise breakthrough policies aimed at supporting the development of digital technology enterprises.

Experts proposed solutions to master digital technologies to ultimately speed up the implementation of the digital transformation process domestically and create the optimal conditions for the country to make breakthroughs moving into the new era.

A number of panel discussions were held during the event to convey the Party, Government, and Prime Minister’s messages on the orientations to accelerate the development of the digital technology and semiconductor industries in the country.

During the ceremony, organisers presented the “Make in Vietnam” Digital Technology Product Award 2024 to honour outstanding digital technology products. They also staged an exhibition space for delegates to experience “Make in Vietnam” digital technology products and services by local enterprises.

On December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued a resolution on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, including the viewpoint of mastering strategic technologies.

The resolution is considered a guideline for all industries seeking to change the nature of their operations and exert a profound impact on the Vietnamese digital technology business community.
