VOV.VN - Dien Bien Phu City in Dien Bien province has launched a massive testing campaign for over 200 local people in Him Lam ward following the detection of two individuals infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

All local residents from residential group No.5 in Him Lam ward have been placed into quarantine, with everyone having their samples taken as part of COVID-19 testing on May 16.

All residents, regardless of their gender and age, are required to show up for COVID-19 testing.

Following the tests, all people are required to remain in isolation at home under the close watch of relevant agencies.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Dien Bien also warned that new cases in No.5 Him Lam ward can be considered the second COVID-19 outbreak in Dien Bien province, with there being a risk of fresh cases being detected following the massive testing.
