Mango Garden Eco-Resort asked to offer bird flu vaccines for poultry

VOV.VN - The Animal Husbandry and Animal Health sub-department of the southern province of Dong Nai has issued a document asking the Mango Garden Eco-Resort in Bien Hoa City to offer bird flu vaccines for all poultry in the area.

Along with this request, the sub-department has also asked the resort to continue to trace the origin of chicken meat used to feed the animals, immediately disinfect barns, and move to isolate others in a bid to prevent a further spread of the disease.

Furthermore, the sub-department also collected samples of five other tigers and one leopard and sent them to the National Centre for Veterinary Diagnosis for testing to verify whether A/H5N1 influenza can spread to multiple species or not.

This comes after a total of 47 tigers, a panther, and three lions living at the Mango Garden Eco-Resort and at My Quynh Zoo in the Mekong Delta of Long An died due to A/H5N1 flu.

Initial information released by the Mango Garden Eco-Resort showed that the animals were fed chicken provided by a company in Ho Nai ward of Bien Hoa city.

Most notably, among the 27 tigers who died at My Quynh Zoo, three of them had been brought over from the Mango Garden Eco-Resort.
