Japan, Vietnam bolster agriculture, tourism, climate change cooperation

VOV.VN - Vietnamese and Japanese legislators have discussed ways to further cooperation on agriculture, tourism, and climate change response.

The meeting was co-chaired recently in Hanoi by Nguyen Van Giau, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations, and Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Union.

Giau hailed Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership and the two countries’ legislative ties which was largely thanks to the role of the Parliamentarians Union.

Nikai affirmed his nation's willingness to step up economic cooperation with Vietnam, particularly on projects to promote agro-forestry and fishery product value chains, to build fishing ports, to upgrade irrigation, and other areas.
