Images showing how DK1 Platform sailors celebrate TET

VOV.VN - The time for the spring TET (Lunar New Year) holidays has come again, the time to engage in all the traditional rituals of marking the end of one year, and ushering in a new one.

But as many Vietnamese gather with their families to participate in this year’s festivities, the soldiers stationed on the DK1 Platform continue to face the challenges of defending the country.

Above: Sailors unload some 200 boxes of food, gift boxes and apricot trees including La Dong leaves used to make traditional Banh Chung rice cakes, sent to them by family and friends.

It is an emotional moment as the ship bringing the TET holiday gifts arrives at the DK1 Platform.

Colonel Nguyen Quoc Van from ship No. 264 welcomes and safely guides the ship and its crew through the treacherous waters surrounding the DK1 Platform.

Sailors on the DK1 Platform decorate their quarters as they prepare for Tet.
