Hottest days follow heavy downpours and flashflood
The central provinces and cities are expected to continue long- lasting scorching days with an average hot temperature of 36-40 degrees Celsius from June 26, said the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.
Whereas, the Southern and Central Highlands regions are forecast to suffer sunny spell at daytime and rainy weather at nighttime, with an average temperature of 31- 34 degrees Celsius.
According to a recent report from the Central Steering Committee on Natural Disasters Prevention and Control, at least one person was reported dead and three more people missing in violent flashflood and heavy downpours which swept through the Northern mountainous provinces.
Lai Chau and Lao Cai were the most affected provinces in the natural disaster.
Violent flooding swept away 31 houses, 500 cattle, two concrete bridges, suspension bridges, traffic roads and irrigation works and 46 hectares of vegetable and rice crops, with total damage of over VND22 billion.
