Hong Ngoc Hospital offers charity surgeries for Vietnamese disfigured children

Not only is one of Hanoi-based most prestigious health care addresses providing high-quality medical services, since the establishment, Hong Ngoc General Hospital has regularly hosted charity medical check-ups and surgery programs for community health.

One of the highlighted charity programs is “Lifting up Dreams” which gives free surgery to poor children with birth defects, especially complex deformities.

Over the past 6 years, with the great efforts of all participants, “Lifting up Dreams” program, hosted by Hong Ngoc General Hospital in cooperation with RICE organization (US), has successfully offered surgeries for 128 disfigured patients living in difficult circumstances.

By doing that, the program has helped the disadvantaged to find the happiness in their life, bring smiles on their face and spread out love and sharing, encouraging people to join hands to build a better and more developed society.

Back to Vietnam this time with “Lifting up Dreams” charity surgery program, the team of American experts is led by Dr. Joseph M. Rosen, lecturer at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. With nearly 40 years of experience, Dr. Rosen is renowned for his exceptional knowledge and skills in cosmetic surgery, hand surgery, head and neck reconstruction, peripheral neurosurgery, and plastic surgery…

Accompanying Dr. Rosen this time is Dr. Alexander Spiess, MI, Wayne State University in Detroit, who has strength in complex surgery related to wrists, elbows, broken bones, ligaments, tendons and trauma.

In this mission, Hong Ngoc General Hospital’s key doctor is Dr. Nguyen Nguyet Nha. She was former deputy head of Craniofacial Department at Hanoi National Hospital of Pediatrics and have studied and worked at Craniofacial Center of Changgung Menorial Hospital (Taiwan) and Paris VI Medical University (France).

Dr. Nha has cooperated with various teams of foreign doctors for charity examination and reconstructive surgery in Vietnam such as Operation Smile American surgeons, Interplast (Netherlands) to perform jaw surgery for patients in 8 Northern provinces, and Globe Care (Korea) to offer surgery at Hanoi National Hospital of Pediatrics.

As scheduled, this program’s mission is taking place from 2^nd March to 17^th March 2019 at Hong Ngoc General Hospital, No. 55 Yen Ninh, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.

Accordingly, the team of specialists will examine and conduct surgery for about 90 patients who have ear, maxillofacial, limb deformities and defects in upper body area. These patients are required to complete their application and qualified for surgery. After their surgery, on the basis of each case, Hong Ngoc General Hospital will provide them with postoperative care (for 01 to 02 months).
