VOV.VN - Approximately 200 houses in the provinces of Hau Giang and Kien Giang have collapsed or been unroofed as a result of heavy rain and thunderstorms caused by the south-west monsoon and storm Sinlaku in the north.
Due to the influence of the south-west monsoon and the circulation of storm Sinlaku, torrential rain and thunderstorms lashed Hau Giang province, causing hundreds of houses throughout the region to be unroofed
As of 9 am on August 3, 38 houses had collapsed while 156 homes had their roods torn off, leading to an estimated damage of roughly VND2.5 billion
Vi Thanh city, along with the districts of Phung Hiep and Long My, have been hardest hit by the recent weather
All relevant forces, including local militias, police, and border guards, have been mobilised to deal with the aftermath of the typhoon, providing assistance to local residents to stabilise their lives.
Elsewhere, whirlwinds unroofed several schools and houses in Kien Hai island district of Kien Giang province, with the communes of Hon Tre, An Son, and Lai Son being hardest hit
Local authorities have dispatched a team to help affected households repair their homes and deploy clean-up operations in the aftermath of the natural disaster.
