Heath insurance coverage hits 86.5% of population
As of mid-December, 81.06 million people had social, health, and unemployment insurance.

Total premium of social, health, and unemployment insurance was VND261.5 trillion, meeting 91.2% of the assigned task, up VND38 trillion against the same period last year. The social insurance sector handed over 9.3 million social insurance books to laborers; granted health insurance cards to 16.6 million people.
According to a report, 56,700 laborers subjected to obliged social insurance payment have yet participated in the scheme.
As of November 30, 2017, the heath insurance information system received 153.1 million electronic medical check-up records of patients with a total health insurance payment of VND79 trillion.
Earlier, General Director of the Viet Nam Social Insurance Nguyen Thi Minh tasked grass-roots social security agencies to print health care insurance cards in codes so that by January 1, 2018, all health insurance participants will enjoy their benefits from medical check-up and treatment.
