The donation worth approximately US$500,000 has been made through German World University Foundation (WUS), with the antigen testing kits including the Panbio-COVID-19-Ag Rapid test Device (Nasopharyngeal), SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test, and the Safecare COVID-19 Ag Rapid Test Kit (Swab).
During the handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong expressed his gratitude to the German Government and people for their valuable and effective contribution in supporting the Vietnamese health sector.
He noted that the Ministry of Health will move to swiftly distribute the testing kits to the localities hardest hit by the pandemic.

In addition, the Vietnamese community in Germany donated 100,000 face masks to various German states and cooked free meals to medical facilities and nursing homes throughout Germany.
In response, German Ambassador to Vietnam Dr. Guido Hildner highlighted the significance of the gift in terms of demonstrating the spirit of solidarity both sides. The German diplomat added that the WUS will continue to call on German states to donate an additional one million COVID-19 rapid test kits to help the country’s ongoing COVID-19 battle in the future.
