HCM City students to receive second COVID-19 shot next week

VOV.VN - As many as 62,838 students aged between 12 and 17 who received their first COVID-19 vaccine shots will now be given their second dose, starting from November 22.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has sent a document to the municipal Department of Health requesting it to implement the second phase of the vaccination campaign for students between the ages of 12 and 17.

The students will be immunised against COVID-19 at schools and either fixed or mobile inoculation points, said the document.  

According to the municipal Health Department, as of November 15 the southern city had inoculated a total of 662,838 children with their first COVID-19 vaccine shot.

Several medical centres are now giving COVID-19 vaccines to the remaining children.

Fortunately, no severe side effects have been recorded so far, although 54 cases of mild side effects were noted and subsequently handled effectively.
