HCM City police arrest Columbian drug trafficker

A police statement issued today (Dec. 26) says that Soracipa Monroy Claudia Stephanny was arrested yesterday at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport following her arrival on a flight from Dubai.

Customs officials detected the heroin concealed in Stephanny’s luggage and contacted the appropriate authorities who took her into custody for questioning.

Stephanny reportedly claimed she was hired to transport the drugs from Bogota, Columbia to an unknown American at a hotel in the City.

Police are continuing to investigate.
