Hanoi sets up voluntary teams for COVID-19 community testing
VOV.VN - The authorities of Hanoi will require related agencies to train members of voluntary teams within the community to reach the target of collecting samples from the whole city as part of COVID-19 testing by September 15.
According to Hanoi’s Department of Health, each voluntary team will be made up of between two to 10 members, mainly individuals who are retired, students in medical colleges and universities, trainees in the healthcare sector, young people, and workers.
Team members are tasked with assisting healthcare workers as they collect samples in large-scale campaigns, along with conducting on-the-spot COVID-19 testing.
The teams will also be in charge of implementing quick tests in high-risk and lockdown areas, all of which will be done under the supervision of medical workers.
They will be trained for their job, given priority to getting vaccinated against COVID-19, and enjoy the capital’s preferential policies during the pandemic fight.
The capital of Hanoi has four times extended its social distancing order since the resurgence of the virus in late April as the fresh coronavirus outbreak remains complicated. It has recorded dozens of new infections daily, with many cases detected through random testing or test screening in the community.
