Government chief allocates US$67.5 million for COVID-19 battle

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has given the go-ahead to allocate more than VND1.55 trillion, equivalent to US$67.5 million, from this year’s State budget to the Ministry of National Defence to help cope with the nation’s COVID-19 fight.

This sum is designed to support the Ministry to carry out relevant tasks assigned by the Government, including arranging concentrated quarantine facilities for citizens, guarding acts of entry and exit at border areas, conducting COVID-19 testing, and rolling out preventive measures in localities nationwide.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Defence have therefore been requested to take responsibility for the accuracy of all reported contents and statistics.

The management and utilisation of additional funds must abide by relevant regulations in a transparent, open, economical, and effective manner.

Furthermore, the purpose of the expenditure must not overlap with the previous ones cited in decisions issued in March and September, 2020, PM Chinh stressed.
