German businesses donate COVID-19 medical equipment to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Minh Vu has recently received a token of medical equipment donated by German businesses to support Vietnam’s ongoing fight against COVID-19.
The haul comprises 15 Savina 300 ventilators and 30 sets of patient monitoring machines worth US$350,000 donated by Techtronic Industries Co., Ltd. (TTI) and the German House Co., Ltd. based in Ho Chi Minh City.
Addressing the hand-over ceremony, Horst Geicke, director of the German House firm expressed his hope that the donations by the two companies as well as other German companies and friends will help Ho Chi Minh City, the largest coronavirus hotspot in Vietnam, contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Vu thanked the two companies for their support and expressed his belief that with the tireless efforts by the Vietnam Government and people, along with contributions by international friends, Vietnam will soon curb the pandemic.
The Ambassador said he hopes that German businesses will continue to accompany Vietnam to overcome the current difficult period, and at the same time, continue to do business in the country.
Vietnam has so far received nearly 3.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines and medical equipment such as 75 ventilators, 15 patient monitors and 20,000 oxygen meters donated by the German government.
In addition, Germany businesses have also supplied tens of ventilators, 800,000 rapid test kits, hundreds of thousands of medical masks and other medical equipment to Vietnam.
