VOV.VN - The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has issued a plan aimed at promoting the capacity of relevant agencies in supervision, inspection, handling of administrative violations, and the prevention and combat of law violations and cybercrimes in Vietnam.

This represents part of efforts aimed at effectively carrying out a directive issued by the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership of crime prevention and control in the new situation, with the national strategy on crime prevention and control for the 2016 to 2025 period, with a vision towards 2030.

The plan has also been designed to raise public awareness and responsibility of agencies, organisations, and individuals participating in activities on the internet and social networks, with the goal of preventing and combating law violations and cybercrimes.

Accordingly, the MIC’s Authority of Information Security (AIS) will be in charge of co-ordinating activities to deal with cyber security incidents nationwide whilst also ensuring information security. In addition, agency is also tasked with co-ordinating the fight against spam for regular users of the Internet.

Furthermore, the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) has been assigned to strengthen the management of domain names.
