Eight Vietnamese repatriation flights bound for Khanh Hoa in April
VOV.VN - The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has permitted local enterprises to organise a total of eight private flights aimed at repatriating Vietnamese citizens left stranded overseas due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In line with the proposal, the enterprises will pay for the expenses of all the flights.
The province has been granted permission to receive two flights each week to ensure that COVID-19 prevention and control measures are followed efficiently.
The repatriation efforts will bring home Vietnamese nationals, including guest workers whose labour contracts have expired, students, travelers, along with other cases. Flights will run from the Republic of Korea (RoK), Japan, Taiwan (China), and Russia.
According to regulations, all passengers on board the flights must test negative for COVID-19 within three to seven days prior to departure. After landing at Cam Ranh International Airport, they will be required to follow health quarantine procedures and will be transferred to hotels or quarantine facilities in line with COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
The returnees will have to pay for all quarantine expenses themselves, according to the province’s decision.
At present, over 900 Vietnamese citizens and foreign sailors are undergoing self-isolation in Khanh Hoa. The province is currently treating four COVID-19 patients, all of whom are Vietnamese nationals returning home from aboard.
On April 2, the first flight of its kind touched down at Cam Ranh International Airport, bringing home 250 Vietnamese citizens from the RoK.
