Deputy Minister of Public Security dies

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham Quy Ngo lost his fight against cancer on February 18 at the age of 60.
Ngo, who became Deputy Minister in 2010, breathed his last breath at Hanoi-based Military Hospital 108.
Ngo was reported to have devoted his life to public security and was a trailblazer in many important investigation cases.
Most recently, he was in charge of investigation into the corruption case involving national shipping company Vinalines, which caused a loss of VND366 billion (US$17.26 million) to the State budget.
