Da Nang police arrest five Chinese nationals wanted by China

VOV.VN - Da Nang City Police, in coordination with units under the Ministry of Public Security, have arrested five Chinese nationals wanted by Chinese authorities in a short period.

Huang Yanlin (born in 1973), Wang Xuefeng (born in 1992), Zhang Huijuan (born in 1973); and Zhang Jiangqing (born in 1975) were arrested in operations by the Criminal Police Division of Da Nang City Police, in coordination with a task force from the Criminal Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security and police in Hoa Cuong, Ngu Hanh Son and Son Tra wards.

The arrests were carried out based on information and requests from the Chinese Ministry of Public Security after the Department of Foreign Relations reported cases wanted by Chinese authorities and requested Vietnam's assistance in locating, arresting and handing them over.

Earlier on July 29, the Criminal Police Division of Da Nang City Police, in coordination with Ngu Hanh Son Ward Police, arrested Wang Hongjian, born in 1986, another Chinese national wanted by Chinese authorities.

The case of Wang Hongjian highlights the importance of managing foreign nationals and reviewing accommodation records in detecting internationally wanted individuals staying in Vietnam.

At the police station, Wang said he was wanted by the police of Jiande City, Zhejiang Province, China, under Detention Order No. 00343 dated July 14, 2026.

After completing the required procedures, the Criminal Police Division of Da Nang City Police, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of Public Security, handed Wang over to Chinese authorities at Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Lang Son Province.

The results contributed to more effective international cooperation in preventing and combating crime, particularly transnational cases, while helping maintain security and public order in the locality.

In recent months, Vietnamese authorities have repeatedly detected and arrested foreign nationals who entered or stayed in Vietnam illegally or were suspected of involvement in transnational fraud. Some of those cases involved individuals wanted by foreign authorities, highlighting the risk of offenders exploiting travel and residency in Vietnam to conceal their whereabouts or continue criminal activities.

Strengthening the management of foreign nationals, information sharing and coordination with law enforcement agencies in other countries therefore plays an important role in preventing and combating transnational crime.
