COVID-19: Vietnam confirms three cases on Mar. 10

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health confirmed a locally transmitted infection and two imported cases on March 10 afternoon.

The community case was detected in Hai Duong province, the epicenter of the country’s latest coronavirus outbreak.

Hai Duong has controlled the fresh outbreak, with only one or two cases diagnosed during the past few days as opposed to dozens recorded a couple of weeks ago.

The virus has also been kept in check in 12 other cities and provinces across the country as no new cases have been reported over the past days.

As many as 895 community cases have been confirmed in 13 cities and provinces since the emergence of the virus in late January 2021. Hai Duong alone has registered 711 cases up to date.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health on March 10 announced two imported cases, including a Filipino expert entering Vietnam on February 24.

The expert tested positive on March 10 during his stay at a quarantine facility in Long An province, southern Vietnam.

Overall, Vietnam has confirmed more than 2,500 COVID-19 cases since the first was detected in January 2020.

A total of 2,004 patients have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.

Among the active cases, 208 have tested negative for the virus at least once.

The number of deaths caused by COVID-19 and related illnesses remains at 35.
