COVID-19: Vietnam confirms five more coronavirus infections
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced five more coronavirus cases on April 27 afternoon, including a hotel serviceman in northern Vietnam.
Four of the patients are Vietnamese who returned to the homeland from Japan, Germany and Russia on different flights in April.
They all tested positive during their stay in concentrated quarantine facilities, thus posing no risk to the community, the MoH said in its 18.00hrs update.
Meanwhile, a staff member of a hotel in Yen Bai province, northern Vietnam, was diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus after having close contact with infected Indian experts in quarantine at the hotel.
Earlier the MoH announced nine infection cases on April 26, including six in the afternoon.
Vietnam has so far recorded a total of 2,857 coronavirus cases, including 2,516 recoveries.
Among the active cases under treatment at health facilities, 48 have tested negative at least once.
The number of fatalities caused by COVID-19 and related illnesses remains at 35.
The MoH has recently warned about a possible new coronavirus outbreak in the community in the coming days, especially during the four-day holiday, starting on April 30.
It has therefore encouraged people to stay highly vigilant by strictly implementing its 5K message, namely Khau trang (facemask), Khu khuan (disinfection), Khoang cach (distance), Khong tu tap (No gathering) and Khai bao y te (health declaration).
