COVID-19: Two more cases detected, Vietnam has 812 in total

VOV.VN - Vietnam has detected two more locally transmitted coronavirus cases in Hanoi capital and neighbouring Bac Giang province during the past 12 hours, raising the country’s tally of infections to 812.

The Bac Giang-born patient, 33, travelled to Da Nang City, the epicenter of the current coronavirus outbreak, together with five other family members in late July.

Upon returning from the trip, the five other members tested positive for the SARS-Co-V-2 virus and she herself was later diagnosed with the virus.

The Hospital of Tropical Diseases confirmed her test was positive on August 8.

Meanwhile, the 63-year-old man in Hanoi’s Bac Tu Liem district tested positive after having contact with a COVID-19 patient who returned from Da Nang City.

He displayed symptoms such as a fever, fatigue, and anorexia on August 3, and a test conducted by the Hanoi Centre of Disease Control on August 8 proved he had carried the virus.

Both the patients are being quarantined at the Hanoi Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh district for surveillance and treatment.

As of 06.00hrs August 8, Vietnam has confirmed 812 coronavirus cases, including 355 cases detected in the community following the recurrence of the virus in Da Nang city on July 25.
