COVID-19 infection tally down by 408 to 3,639 on October 25

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health reported the discovery of an additional 3,639 new COVID-19 infections on October 25 across 53 localities nationwide, marking a decline of 408 from the previous day.

The three localities recording the highest number of fresh infections were Ho Chi Minh City with 969, Binh Duong with 517, and Dong Nai with 458 cases.

A total of 40 out of the 65 COVID-19 deaths confirmed over the past 24 hours came from Ho Chi Minh City, with the total COVID-19 death toll rising to 21,738 as a result.

Elsewhere, the total number of recoveries rose to 807,301 after 1,323 people were declared to be free from the disease on the same day.

More than 52.5 million people have now been vaccinated with at least one COVID-19 shot to date, whilst over 21.4 million people have now been fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Hanoi is poised to launch a vaccination campaign for children aged 12 to 17, with this expected to commence in 2022.

Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control, stated that it is focusing on fully vaccinating its adult population, before moving on to those aged 17 to 18, along with those below the age of 17.

According to him the capital will move to inoculate children from three years old, although there are no concrete plans in place as of yet.
