COVID-19: Hai Duong hotspot records 14 more cases on Feb. 10
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health confirmed an additional 21 coronavirus infections on February 10, including 14 community cases in Hai Duong province, the country’s biggest coronavirus hotspot.
Thirteen of the 14 cases in Hai Duong tested positive for the virus after being placed in quarantine. They had come into close contact with COVID0-19 patients. The 14th patient was screened in hospital after showing flu-like symptoms such as a fever and a cough.
Elsewhere, four community cases were detected in Gia Lai province, a new coronavirus hotspot in the Central Highlands. Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh province recorded one case each.
Vietnam has recorded 504 locally transmitted cases since the third wave of the coronavirus broke out late last month. The virus has spread to 13 cities and provinces, with Hai Duong reporting 341 cases, followed by Quang Ninh (54), HCM City (34), Hanoi (28) and Gia Lai (24).
The same day, the Ministry of Health also announced an imported case, an Indonesian expert coming to Vietnam from his home country.
The Indonesian patient arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on February 7 and tested positive on February 9.
Also on February 10, six patients were discharged from hospital after making a full recovery from the disease.
At present nearly 115,000 people have been placed in quarantine for medical surveillance after having contact with COVID-19 patients or returning from epidemic hit countries.
