The same day, as many as 42 coronavirus patients were declared to be clear of the virus, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 2,602, while 64 cases receiving treatment have tested negative for the coronavirus at least one time or more.

Furthermore 42,293 people are being quarantined across the country after having close contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients or returning home from pandemic-hit regions.

The coronavirus has hit 23 cities and provinces nationwide, with a total of 241 local transmissions recorded since April 27.

Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that the latest wave of the pandemic is very complicated with multiple outbreaks, multiple sources of infection, and multiple strains, so the rate of infection has increased higher than the previous outbreaks.
