COVID-19: 63 more cases recorded over six hours, daily count at 196
VOV.VN - Vietnam has confirmed an additional 63 locally transmitted coronavirus cases in four localities during the past six hours, raising the national daily caseload to 196, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Most of the newly detected cases were in quarantine and lockdown areas, said MoH in its 06.00pm COVID-19 update.
Of the total, 27 were recorded in Bac Giang, 20 in Ho Chi Minh City, 15 in Bac Ninh and one in Hanoi.
The outbreak in Ho Chi Minh City remains complicated as the source of infection of several new cases is unknown.
Both Bac Giang and Bac Ninh are the country’s largest COVID-19 hotspots though the outbreak there has been brought under control.
Earlier, the MoH announced a further 82 cases at noon and 51 more cases in the morning, bringing the 24-hour caseload to 196.
Vietnam has confirmed 6,780 locally transmitted coronavirus infections in 39 cities and provinces nationwide since the virus recurred in one and a half months ago. Twenty-two COVID-19 related deaths have been reported during the period.
The figure has raised the running tally of infections to 9,980, including 57 deaths, since the first case was documented in January 2020.
Also on June 11, an additional 96 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital, taking to 3,804 the number total of recoveries.
