COVID-19: 59 more community infections in isolation, lockdown areas
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) has confirmed an additional 59 locally transmitted coronavirus cases, including 33 in Bac Ninh province, a gateway to Hanoi capital.
All these cases were recorded in quarantine and lockdown areas, said the MoH in its 18.00hrs update on May 14.
Notably, as many as 33 cases were detected in Bac Ninh province, one of the biggest coronavirus hotpots in Vietnam.
Elsewhere, 12 cases were diagnosed in Hanoi, six in Bac Giang, 3 in Da Nang, 1 each in Thai Binh and Dien Bien.
Two more cases were documented at the Hanoi-based K Cancer Hospital No2 and one at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No2 also located in Hanoi.
Earlier the same day, the MoH announced 16 more cases at noon and 29 others in the morning.
Vietnam has recorded 787 COVID-19 cases in 26 cities and provinces nationwide since the virus recurred on April 28.
Outbreaks at coronavirus hotspots have basically been brought under control as new cases were detected among those in quarantine and lockdown areas.
However, experts say industrial parks (IPs) are running a high risk as many cases have been found at IPs in Da Nang, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh over the past few days.
