COVID-19: 12 imported cases registered, total reaches 1,192

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health on November 2 reported the discovery of a further 12 imported cases of COVID-19, pushing the national infection tally to 1,192.

All the newly detected patients entered the nation from Russia and the US and were quarantined immediately upon their arrival, posing no possibility of spreading the virus domestically.

They are now being put into isolation to undergo treatment at local hospitals after they were confirmed to carry the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The same day, an additional two coronavirus patients were released from hospital after making a successful recovery from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,065 nationwide.

The country has so far recorded 691 community associated infections, including 551 cases confirmed since July 25 which saw the virus resurge in Vietnam’s Da Nang city.

Among the active patients receiving treatment, 9 have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at least once, and 13 tested negative several times, while death toll remains at 35.

There are more than 14,770 people having close contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases or coming from pandemic-hit areas under quarantine for health monitoring across the nation.

The country has gone more than two months in a row with no fresh cases of local transmission.
